If you are as thirsty as we are for a fabulous wine experience then you will be over the moon to hear that yes indeed, at last, the wait is over. Bookings for the epic 2022 Greyton Wine Weekend taking place 11th – 13th of November ’22, are opening on the 15th of July. Poise your finger above that button, tickets will be flying.
Look forward to a weekend of lazy exploration and seriously good wine in the picture-perfect little town of Greyton. This is not your regular wine tasting experience, during the Greyton Wine Weekend you get to meet the knowledgable makers behind 30+ of South Africa’s best wines on the stoep of private residences, restaurants, and other businesses and destinations throughout town. This includes the quirky likes of AA Badenhorst Family Wines, Luditte, Kat se Snor and so much more.
You don’t even need to feel guilty about having a blast, as not only are you supporting the local wine industry (as if we need a reason!) but also the whole event has been put together as a fundraising initiative to boost the school fund for Greyton House.
Kids between 3 – 14 can look forward to a taste of country life with a jam-packed program that includes everything from baking and hiking to ceramics. This way parents can enjoy themselves without worrying about a thing. Let’s drink to that!
This year’s event features a few well-known farms like Steenberg Farm, Mullineux, Gabrielskloof, and Graham Beck, as well as super-niche producers like Fram and Weather Report Wine. The really great thing about the format of the festival is that each producer has been paired with a local business with whom they have a lekker vibe.
Just to make things even more amazing, there are a variety of side events and workshops in the mix. Keep scrolling to discover all about it. No need for FOMO, just grab your spot quickly and you won’t miss a thing.
Sound good? Book now! Tickets for the super popular Greyton Wine Weekend are limited and since the foodie grapevine got hold of this one tickets will sell out quick-sticks. Great news though, you can book your tasting tickets and the fringe events all conveniently in one spot, even your glamping stay!
Oh yeah, you’ve heard us right, this year you don’t have to beg, borrow and steal (or drive anywhere, for that matter) to find a place to rest your weary head. The Greyton Wine Weekend has a brand new feature, an uber-cool Glamping Village brought to you by the rad folk of Wolfkop Weekender.
Bookings for the epic Greyton Wine Weekend 2022 are opening on the 15th of July.
The très fancy Glamping Village will be located at Uitkyk, a safe and spacious site with 24h security. You can have your pick between Lush, Lux, Comfort, or Cosy, whatever floats your boat.
And yes, choosing a ‘designated driver’ will totally not be a ‘thing’ because it is just a short meander from the center of town.
There is a lot of talk in the industry about how the glass you drink from makes a huge difference to your wine experience.
See for yourself at the special Riedel varietal-specific tastings with a selection of not-to-be-missed fine local and international wines. Join them for the fabulous exclusive experience, limited numbers apply.
After a fun-filled day of wine tasting, what would you like to do? Well, put on your red party dress and have some more fun, right?
You can do just that at this beer and wine bar with food stalls and live music to boot. Keep the vibes going for the ultimate (late) night of celebrations on both Friday and Saturday night.
Who would ever in their right mind say no to a Farmer’s Brunch? Not us, no sirree. Sunday is your chance to enjoy an epic brunch on this picture-perfect farm.
This is the ultimate way to wind down after a few days of winesploring. There’s no better start to a lazy Sunday-Funday than to be surrounded by magnificent mountains and the clucking hens that laid your eggs that morning.
One for the boys! Greyton’s local brewery plays host to a smokey BBQ meat feast paired with big and bold red blends on both Friday 11th and Saturday 12th of November at 18h00. The kicker?
Triumph motorcycles will be joining the evening with their latest and greatest iron horses.
An intimate, home-cooked experience, where food & music mingle with your senses!
Join this not-to-be-missed magical vegetarian feast & musical interlude hosted by Lori Solomon in Greyton.
Cinnamon spice and all things nice will be at your fingertips at the Nomu Spice & Wine Experience that takes place on the 12th of November.
You will go on a delicious spice journey with NOMU, all paired with wine of course. Spoiler alert! Think small plates and big flavours.
This is your chance to do a bit of good whilst having an immense amount of fun. The pièce de résistance of the Greyton Wine Weekend, a fabulous banquet and fundraising auction will be hosted on Saturday, 13th of November at The Oaks Estate.
This will be the ultimate playground for lovers of wine, food, and fun. Sounds like your kind of vibe? You will be spoilt with a Farm to Table Feast of epic proportions, a lucky dip of award-winning wines from all the Greyton Wine Weekend participating estates, great company, and smooth vibes.
‘Instead of queuing up to taste wine at snooze-worthy generic stalls under a muggy tent, you get to meander around the pretty town, mingle with the locals and seek out 30+ knowledgable winemakers where they are camped out on the stoep’
