If you’d like to discover some of the Mother City’s coolest outdoor secret sundowner spots, all you need to do is to follow in the slipstream of Henk and Suna, the team behind the Secret Adventurer. This Cape Town-based couple have made it their life’s mission to seek out the hidden gems and magic marvels along the city’s shoreline. And you don’t have to worry about a thing – they will lay it all on for you! Think gorgeous carpets, twinkling fairy lights, comfy pillows, delicious virgin artisinal cocktails and snacks – and a view to die for.

Overview
At the end of the day, when Cape Town gets ready to swap her sweeping blue mantel for a jaunty mid-night blue cape spangled with a thousand stars, the lingering reprieve of her magnificent sunset calls for a cold one. But where to go?
Well, if you are looking for the most awe-inspiring outdoor seaside sundowner spots all you need to do is follow in the footsteps of Henk Brand and Suna Symington. “Henk and I have always loved exploring and looking for isolated spots where few people go. We found most of our favourites through sheer curiosity – we would look at Google Maps satellite images and try to find new places to enjoy sundowners. Then we’d go on elaborate adventures to access those spots, ” says Suna. These days, they have quite an impressive repertoire of go-to cocktail destinations which they enthusiastically share with fellow adventurers.
On their secret sunset cocktail experience you will be surprised with a sundowner encounter in a beautiful off-the-radar seaside spot, not too far from the city centre. And we’re not simply talking a beer on the beach. Think gorgeous setting, artisanal drinks and an al fresco feast!
So get ready to kick back and relax in an epic location, enjoy tasty snacks and drink a toast to the singular beauty of the Mother City at the hands of two of her most steadfast fans and intrepid adventurers.

- This outing is best enjoyed in comfortable clothes and sturdy, non-slip shoes. Cape Town weather can be unpredictable, so bring a jacket or wrap.
- Feel free to bring swimming gear if it’s a warm summer’s day!
- The experience is as sustainable as possible, as Suna and Henk both love nature and support the conservation thereof at every turn. This is why they source their produce ethically and sustainably, recycle all their waste and use seasonal produce.
- Zero tolerance will be shown for drinking and driving. If you don’t have a designated driver in your crew, please arrange an Uber or an alternative drop-off and pick-up.
